Vietnam, a Television History Episode 3: LBJ Goes to War

Vietnam Conflict, 1964-1965

Did you know that the last president to get congressional approval to wage war (the way it is supposed to be done according to the constitution) was Franklin Roosevelt? In case you haven't noticed, we have fought several wars since WWII, and among other things, Episode 3 of Vietnam, a Television History  features the Tonkin Gulf Resolution of 1964, which allows the president to use military force without congressional approval. LBJ Goes to War tells the story of the Vietnam Conflict from 1964-1965, which includes LBJ's decision to use military force on a large scale, the beginning of the bombing campaign against North Vietnam, and the first direct battle between US and North Vietnamese troops.  Project Credit: To get credit for watching this film, download the attached worksheet and submit the filled out worksheet.
