Hi All,

A cool way to get credit for a special project is through watching film media that you can access online. The following is an episode from a  popular TV show from the 1950's that does a nice job illustrating the cultural norms of the time.

Leave it to Beaver, the Poor Loser

Leave it to Beaver was a highly popular TV series that aired from 1957 to 1963. The sitcom documented the life of the Cleavers, a middle class family that represented the ideal 1950's American family. The episode I have found, The Poor Loser, aired in the show's final season and   gives viewers a nice picture of how America saw itself in the 1950's. In order to get credit on this special project, download the Leave it to Beaver movie worksheet from the Document Sharing site within this course and watch the episode by clicking on the following link:  Leave it to Beaver: The Poor Loser. When finished, turn in the filled-in worksheet in the Special Project assignment in Unit 1. IMPORTANT: If you have to stop watching and come back later, please note the time you are at on the movie; there is no memory when you reload. This Special Project allows you to go back in time and relive the 1950's.
