Hi All,

A cool way to get credit for a special project is through watching documentaries that you can access online. The following is a PBS video that aligns with material covered in Unit 1.

God in America: A Nation Reborn

The election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 represented a pivotal battle in the moral and religious debate over slavery that had at that point been going on for decades in America. The PBS Frontline film God in America: A Nation Reborn focuses on the moral and spiritual aspects of the Slavery controversy and the Civil War. This episode is part three of a six-part series telling America’s “religious story” spanning from the Colonial times to the present. It is an excellent film that I promise you will not regret watching. Special Project Credit: Download the movie worksheet attached here and fill out as you watch the film, then submit filled out worksheet to the Unit 1 Special Project Assignment to receive points. You can watch this movie by clicking on the following link:  http://video.pbs.org/video/1610739674# . When finished, turn in the filled-in worksheet in the Special Project assignment in Unit 1. IMPORTANT: If you have to stop watching and come back later, please note the time you are at on the movie; there is no memory when you reload. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I did.
