Hi All,

The final 2 Episodes of the Civil War Series:

The Civil War Episode 8: War is All Hell

As he embarked on his infamous "March to the Sea", William Tecumseh Sherman was asked about the glory of war. "There is no glory in war," he remarked, "War is all hell."

1865: War is All Hell is Episode 8 of Ken Burns' widely acclaimed 9-part series on the Civil War. The series first premiered on PBS in 1990 and 40 million viewers tuned in the week it played, making it the most successful and popular documentaries every produced at the time. This episode documents Sherman's March to the Sea, the destruction of Atlanta and Richmond, and the fall of the Confederacy. The episode ends with Lee's somber surrender at Appomattox Courthouse. I watched every one of these movies as I loaded them in for my students in the Civil War Class, and when I got to these last two I was sad to see the end.
