Liberty! The American Revolution, Episode 1: The Reluctant Revolutionaries
American Colonies, 1765-1774: Have you ever wondered what the Founding Fathers did before the Revolution? Liberty! The American Revolution is a 6 part series done by PBS documenting the story of the American Revolution in meticulous detail. Episode 1, Reluctant Revolutionaries opens with Benjamin Franklin in London petitioning England to found a colony in Ohio, George Washington as an English officer trying to attain honor in the English army, and other revolutionaries who have no idea that in a few short years they will rebel against a nation they consider themselves blessed to be a part of. This film documents the events that would propel these "reluctant revolutionaries" into the conflict that would ultimately create our nation. If you have ever wondered exactly how the American revolution began, this is an excellent film to watch.
