Want to learn more about globalization or about the economy we live in today? Commanding Heights is a three part mini-series done by PBS based on a best-selling book by two leading economists of the same name. The subject of this series is the battle of market forces and governments for control of the world economy, a battle that has gone on for the last 100 years. Episode 3, The New Rules of the Game documents the 1990's through the first years of the new century, a time the authors call the 2nd Era of Globalization. At this point, Hayek's ideas of free market economics have triumphed around the globe, but an interlinked global economy is fraught with new perils, and several crises that could have brought down the world economy are documented in this film.  Project Credit: To get credit for watching this film, download the movie worksheet attached here and submit filled in worksheet.
