In order to get credit for this project you must write an essay on the following topic:
Party Platform
As in any modern, democratic government, the American political system is dominated by several political parties that all have their own distinct point of view and perspective on issues and national policy. This perspective on issue and national policy is the party's platform and could be considered their agenda if in power. For this assignment, you will assess party platform by picking an American political party and writing about its platform. To do this, pick a party, research their platform, and then write a five paragraph essay of 600 words or more explaining three aspects of this platform.
This is actually a fairly straightforward and simple essay topic. The easiest way to do this is to research your party and come up with three parts of their platform or three issues to discuss that will eventually become your body paragraphs (For example, Republicans and Democrats sharply disagree on taxation policy or the issue of abortion).
