The Century, America's Time is a series done by ABC in the 1990's that tells the story of the twentieth century, a century dominated by technology, destruction, and a time when America became the world's greatest economic and political power. Episode 2, "Shell Shock" documents WWI and America's involvement with this massively destructive war. "The Great War", as it was then known, was the world's first industrialized war and cost more money, material, and men than any war ever fought before it had, taking every nation involved completely by surprise and producing "shell shock" in its participants. This excellent 50 minute video tells the incredible story of this war.
