The Century, America's Time is a series done by ABC in the 1990's that tells the story of the twentieth century, a century dominated by technology, destruction, and a time when America became the world's greatest economic and political power. Episode 3, Boom and Bust documents the "Roaring 20's", sometimes also caused the "Jazz Age". The decade from 1920 to 1929 was a time of enormous upheaval: modern technology electrified most of America at this time and mass production created a consumer boom and the rise of debt; Prohibition caused a wave of lawlessness, and the experience of WWI, the Great Migration, and new literature changed the culture.
