What do you know about the War of 1812? The War of 1812 is a 2011 PBS documentary that covers the war of the same name. In 1812, during the Napoleonic Wars in Europe, America declared a war on Britain that lasted two years and nearly split our nation in two. Little is known about this war, yet as pointed out in the documentary, this war did much to shape the future path of North America. The war of 1812 was also the last conflict where Native American forces would play a role in who had power in North America, and the conclusion of this war was a decisive defeat for them.
