Hi All,

A cool way to get credit for a special project is through watching documentaries that you can access online. The following is a PBS video that aligns with material covered in Unit 2

Freedom Riders

Freedom Riders is a 2 hour documentary produced as part of PBS's American Experience series and tells the dramatic story of the Freedom Ride Project, a pivotal part of the Civil Rights Movement. From the summer of 1962 to the spring of 1963 several busloads of Civil Rights Protesters boarded Greyhound buses and drove into the Deep South to deliberately break segregation laws and to provoke confrontation with authorities who enforced the "Jim Crow" regime found in this region of the nation. Special Project Credit: Since this is a two hour film that I really want all students to watch, the filled out movie worksheet for this film will count as 100/100 of your Special Project points for this unit. I promise you that you won't be disappointed in this film and I found this documentary to be one of the most powerful films I have ever seen in my life.
