Hi All,

A cool way to get credit for a special project is through watching documentaries that you can access online. The following is a PBS video that aligns with material covered in Unit 2

American Experience: The Panama Canal

Did you know that it took ten years and cost 5,000 lives to complete the Panama Canal? The building of the Panama Canal from 1904-1914 marked America's entry into the world as a global superpower. Its value to the American economy and America's political power are inestimable, but the Panama Canal is also an engineering marvel and practically a miracle when it was built. This documentary episode of PBS's American Experience tells the story of the construction of the Panama Canal and the beginning of America's race toward global supremacy.  Special Project Credit: Download the movie worksheet attached here and fill out as you watch the film, then submit filled out worksheet to the Unit 3 Special Project Assignment to receive points. You can watch this movie by clicking on the following link: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/panama/player/  I found this film fascinating and hope that you enjoy it as much as I did .Trehal
