Want to know how we got inolved in Vietnam? Vietnam, a Television History is a critically acclaimed series on the Vietnam War done by PBS in the early 1980's. Episode 1: Roots of a War documents Vietnam's long history of conflict first with China and then later with France. This film also covers the long career of Vietnamese Nationalist Ho Chi Minh, the leader of North Vietnam who would ultimately lead his nation to victory against both the French and the US. This film gives you the perspective of the North Vietnamese who would eventually become our enemies in the Vietnam Conflict.
