The AFC East standings as of press time.
As the last four weeks of the NFL regular season approaches, here is everything you missed to get you ready for playoffs.
The Patriots stand at 3-8 and are, unfortunately, in last place in the AFC East Division. The season is not a complete bust, however, as first-round rookie quarterback Drake Maye is widely predicted to have a promising future.
The Buffalo Bills with quarterback Josh Allen lead our division at nine and two and are currently at the number two seed for the AFC (American Football Conference). In week 11, the Bills put an end to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs with a score of 30-21. The Bills look like a strong contender to appear in the superbowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, are sitting at the number one seed for the AFC with a record of nine and one. The Chiefs are also a strong contender to appear in the Super Bowl as the organization aims for a third consecutive championship title.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, led by Russell Wilson (8-2); The Houston Texas, led by CJ Stroud (7-4); and The Los Angeles Chargers (7-3), led by Justin Herbert; hold the third, fourth, and fifth seed respectively. While these teams are having good seasons, none of these teams seem better than the Bills and Chiefs.
The Baltimore Ravens, led by Lamar Jackson, are sitting at the sixth seed for the AFC at seven and four. The Ravens had bigger expectations going into the season however, despite the Ravens record, Lamar Jackson is the frontrunner to be named MVP (most- valuable player) with 25 touchdowns to only three interceptions and 2,876 passing yards.
The Detroit Lions, led by Jared Goff, are nine and one and holding the number one seed for the NFC (National Football Conference). The amount of points the Lions are putting up this season is their most impressive stat besides their overall record. The Lions appear a strong Super Bowl contender with the amount of talent on the team however the coaching is not the best.
The Philadelphia Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts, are eight and two and hold the number two seed for the NFC. The Eagles are having a pretty normal season since Jalen Hurts became quarterback and are a strong super bowl contender.
The Arizona Cardinals, led by Kyler Murray (6-4) and the Atlanta Falcons, led by Kirk Cousins (6-5) have the third and fourth seed respectively. These teams are mediocre but since they are winning their divisions, they are a higher seed.
The Minnesota Vikings, led by Sam Darnold, are eight and two and placed at seed number five for the NFC. The Vikings are having an unexpected and unusually good season. The Vikings were expecting a rebuilding season but in spite of that they are a Super Bowl contender.
Obviously, these standings are subject to change, as the regular season is still in progress, but it seems more and more likely that a team from the AFC will emerge victorious in Super Bowl LIX.
