Newest pop sensation Chappell Roan performs at the VMAS after winning in the "Best New Artist" category.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) was a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances. Held at the iconic UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, the annual awards ceremony showcased the best in music videos and celebrated the year's top artists.
One of the most anticipated moments of the night was the announcement of the major award winners. To some surprise, Taylor Swift along with Post Malone took home the coveted "Video of the Year Award" for their groundbreaking collaborative music video, “Fortnight”. The win was met with cheers and applause from the audience and fans alike.
Other notable winners included the newest hit sensation, Chappell Roan. Presenting her with a victory, she won Best New Artist. Her victories were a testament to her talent, hard work, and dedication to her craft. Other winners included; Taylor Swift for Best Artist, Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter for Best Song, Taylor Swift and Post Malone for Song of the Summer.
The VMAs were also a platform for unforgettable performances. Making her entrance, Sabrina Carpenter was shown in the spotlight, sitting on a hanging diamond in the air Opening with her song “Please Please Please” from her news album “Short ‘n’ Sweet”, she followed that song with “Taste” and “Espresso.”
Following that performance, Chappell Roan took to the stage. Roan appeared on the stage with a beautiful set up, accompanied by knights holding swords. She performed her hit song, “Good Luck Babe” that was released earlier this year. From high-energy dance numbers to emotional ballads, the artists delivered jaw-dropping shows that left the audience wanting more. During the eventful night, Katy Perry came to give the fans what they have been wanting. She performed very impressive acrobatics while being suspended in the air, singing at the same time.
In addition to the awards and performances, the VMAs were known for their iconic fashion moments. Celebrities graced the red carpet in stunning and daring outfits, pushing the boundaries of style and creativity.
Overall, the 2024 VMAs were a night to remember, filled with incredible performances and iconic fashion. The awards ceremony showcased the best in music and celebrated the artists will continue to shape the industry for years to come.
