The DHS girls hockey team gears up to face Ursuline at the Nobles and Greenough Ice Rink.

The DHS girls hockey team recognized their four graduating seniors, all captains, in last month at their home rink of Nobles and Greenough. The girls were also able to pull off a 8-1 win that night against Ursuline.

Prior to the event, the Marauder team decorated the rink and set up gifts. The game began with both teams celebrating their seniors with flowers.

Playing hockey since she was three years-old, Caroline Demeo, has been playing for the Marauders since 8th grade. She has played both defense and forward throughout her lengthy career. Demeo puts in a great deal of effort to create plays and scoring opportunities for her fellow teammates. When we asked about the win against Ursuline, she said, “It was a good win for the whole team and really satisfying to have a win on senior night.”

Abbey Keyes has played on the team since she was an 8th grader and has played hockey since she was eight. Keyes is known for making memorable plays on the ice. She was very pleased with the outcome of the Senior Night game: “We played a dominant game and clinched the win for all the seniors.

Ava Iantosca, also a veteran player, has managed the impressive feat of 100 career points. The Senior Night game was icing on the cake: “The win was very satisfying; it made the night memorable.”

Five-year seasoned veteran Danielle O'Neill has added a multitude of good scoring opportunities for the team throughout the season. Senior Night was a highlight:It was a great win. We've worked very hard as a team.”
