Mirror: What is your role at DHS?
Callahan: I’m a school psychologist.
M: Where have you taught before?
C: Before coming to Dedham High School, I worked in several schools and community mental health clinics in Chicago, Illinois.
M: Where did you go to college?
C: I went to Boston College for my undergraduate degree (Go Eagles!) and Loyola University Chicago for graduate school.
M: Where are you from?
C: I was born and raised in Medford, Massachusetts.
M: What are your hobbies?
C: I love to read, run, cook new recipes, spend time with my three sisters, listen to podcasts, and swim!
M: What do you like about Dedham?
C: All of the wonderful students and staff who have welcomed me to DHS this year.
M: What is your favorite movie?
C: The Sandlot.
M: What is your favorite book?
C: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.
M: Favorite quote?
C: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”- Arthur Ashe
M: What was the last song you downloaded?
C: My most recently saved song on Spotify is Don’t Let Me Down by The Beatles.
M: Favorite apps?
C: Calm, Spotify, Audible, and Strava.
M: Dunks or Starbucks?
C: Hard to choose, but Dunks is my tried and true.
M: How do you take your coffee?
C: Hot with a splash of milk.
M: Favorite sports team?
C: Red Sox.
M: What is your greatest accomplishment?
C: I would say either training for my first marathon or finishing up my doctorate.
M: What jobs did you do before teaching?
C: I worked as a mental health counselor and researcher at Mass General Hospital.
Theresa Stronach, class of 2023, is the Editor-in-Chief of the Dedham Mirror. She also competes as a Marauder on the field hockey, ice hockey, and softball teams, and is a member of the Performing Arts Company at DHS.
