Mirror: Where are you from?
Szymczak: Poland.
M: Where did you go to college?
S: University of Lodz & Warsaw School of Economics (Poland).
M: What did you do for work before coming to Dedham?
S: I was a Creative Coordinator for an e-commerce company, working closely with photographers and clients and planning photoshoots and video commercials for magazines, websites, social media, etc.
M: What is your role at DHS?
Szymczak: I work for the Connections Program.
M: What inspired you to become a teacher?
S: A desire for a meaningful, fulfilling job focusing on helping others.
M: What do you like most about teaching?
S: Making connections and helping kids.
M: What sets you apart from other teachers?
S: My upbringing and experiences: where I was born, raised, and grew up for 27 years. Different culture, different traditions, food, music, time-zone, etc.
M: What are your hobbies?
S: Boxing, travelling, gardening, watching shows.
M: What is your favorite movie?
S: Gran Torino.
M: What is your favorite book?
S: The Godfather.
M: Favorite quote?

M: Favorite apps?
S: PictureThis.

S: Starbucks.
M: How do you take your coffee?
S: Black.
M: Favorite sports team?
S: ŁKS Łódź from my city of Łódź. It is the whole club with the variety of sports sections and teams: soccer, volleyball , basketball, wrestling, tennis, boxing, track, weight lifting.
M: What do you like most about Dedham?
S: I have good memories and some good friends from Dedham.
Theresa Stronach, class of 2023, is the Editor-in-Chief of the Dedham Mirror. She also competes as a Marauder on the field hockey, ice hockey, and softball teams, and is a member of the Performing Arts Company at DHS.
