Olivia Rodrigo’s Unraveled Tour came to TD Garden from October 15th through 18th, performing sold-out shows to a combined audience of over 58,000 people.
The first thing we noticed when we walked into the arena was the beautiful main stage. The whole stage was covered in pretty pink and white flowers. The show had four seasons, starting with spring, hence the flowers. Everyone in the audience also received light-up wristbands that synced with specific songs. Seeing the entire stadium light up in different colors made the performance even more exciting and added another level to the production
Wolf Alice opened the show before Rodrigo came on stage. They did a great job getting the crowd ready for Olivia’s performance. One highlight of their set was “Don’t Delete the Kisses,” which was amazing to hear live. Overall, we thought that Wolf Alice was a strong addition to the lineup and helped build some excitement before Olivia took the stage.
When Olivia Rodrigo came on stage, the crowd went wild. She sang through songs from all three of her albums,” SOUR”, “GUTS”, and “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love”. Her vocals were amazing, and she continues to prove that she is just as talented performing live as she is in the studio. She also had great stage presence, keeping the crowd engaged and making the performance entertaining from start to finish.
We also got a surprise song, “pretty isn’t pretty,” which was one of the night's highlights. Rodrigo performed the song really well, and it was so cool to hear a song from GUTS as a surprise, especially one of our favorite songs from the album. The crowd was really into the performance, singing along and enjoying the unexpected addition to the show. It was a great moment for the fans of the album and added something special to the concert.
One of the most memorable moments of the concert for us personally was Rodrigo’s performance of “the cure.” What made it so memorable was that Olivia wore a paper dress; rain poured down as she sang, and small parts of it dissolved. When her dress dissolved, a gorgeous red bodysuit came out.
Rodrigo moved on to the more emotional part of the evening, singing “honeybee”, “favorite crime”, “driver's license”, and for our night she sang the song "less". The fourth song changes from show to show. Our favorite song while she played the piano was "driver's license." We got these glowing wristbands that aligned with each song playing, and during the lyric “red lights stop signs,” everyone's wristbands in the audience turned red; it was very surreal.
The concert closed with “expectations,” which we thought was a perfect way to end the night. Everyone jumped, sang along, and enjoyed the last few moments together. The crowd's energy was incredible; you could genuinely feel the arena shaking from all the movement. It was really fun to see the entire audience so engaged, and honestly heartwarming to see people just living in the moment, especially in this day and age with technology. We thought it was a great way to close out the show and leave everyone with an amazing final memory of the concert.
When all was said and done, Rodrigo put on an amazing show and proved why she is such a successful performer. Her vocals, stage presence, setlist, and beautiful production made the concert worth the price of admission. From the flower-filled stage to the whole crowd enjoying the show together, the night was an incredible experience fans will remember for years. The Ticketmaster war may have been brutal, but after this concert, we would do it all over again.
