Eric Kapllani, President of the Class of '24 and Jersey Mike's employee, savors the moment during the senior class fundraiser held on Wednesday.

Jersey Mike’s was flooded with a deluge of Dedham students and residents taking advantage of a one-day promotional fundraiser benefiting the class of 2024 on Wednesday. For a small $5 donation, supporters could get themselves a free sub, which could also be combined with Jersey Mikes’ ongoing discount allowing students to show their ID at checkout for a free chip and drink.

This promotion was masterminded by Class President and long-time Jersey Mike's employee, Eric Kapllani, who says that the event was hugely successful. According to Kapllani, roughly 470 donation subs were sold, raising a staggering $2340 for the class, with an additional ~400 subs sold outside of the promotion.

Such a huge volume of supporters led to congestion and long waits in the line, with some standing in Jersey Mikes for well over 30 minutes just to show their Dedham pride. By the end of the night, Kapllani and his Mike's co-workers had completely run out of bread.

“It was an unbelievable baller fundraiser," said Kapllani. "Hella bread, literally and figuratively!" Thank you to everyone who ate a sub, and a shout out to Brian and Evan.”

Funds raised by the donations made will be evenly distributed to cover costs of prom, cap and gown purchases, along with various other senior week activities.
