The Scottish Play Comes to DHS

By Erin Tobin

April 27, 2021

Each year, the DHS Performing Arts Company participates in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s "Festival Competition Show." The company was honored last year when it took home five awards for its production of Aunt Leaf. This year, PAC will be presenting Shakespeare's Macbeth.

The cast :

Clarissa Soda as Macbeth

Caeli Aucoin as Lady Macbeth

Keira Banik as Banquo

Hilen Miralda as Macduff

Kate Tocci as With One/Others

Susie Plunkett as Witch Two/Others

Maeve Keogh as Witch Three/Others

Macbeth is directed by Ms. Whittemore and junior Isiah Hill, with stage management by Theresa Stronach. The performance will be recorded and submitted to METG next week. Public viewing details to be announced.

Ms. Whittemore had this to say about the show:

“Putting on a Shakespeare production is an especially difficult task. Not only do the actors have the usual challenge of embodying their characters, remembering their blocking, and engaging the audience, but with a show like MacBeth, they have the added exercise of deciphering Shakespeare's Middle English. It has been no small feat and the 7 actors in this version of the play have certainly pushed themselves farther than they ever thought they could. MacBeth is rife with emotional moments, exciting fight scenes, and a sprinkle of murder. Okay, a lot of murder! This will be a performance you won't forget!”
