Caitlyn Clark now holds the record for total points scored in NCAA Division 1 Basketball.

The six-foot, 155-pound guard Caitlyn Clark set the all-time record for total points scored in NCAA Division 1 basketball. Clark outscored the reigning record holder, Pete Maravich, with 3,667 points during her career as an Iowa Hawkeye.

A native of  West Des Moines, Clark started playing basketball at the age of five. According to Sports Illustrated, colleges started paying attention to her when she was in middle school. She was recruited by the University of Iowa and remained there throughout her collegiate career, ultimately becoming the first Division-I player to record 3,300 plus points, 900 plus assists, and 800 plus rebounds.

After her senior year, Clark decided to enter into the WNBA draft. She will be considered in the first round draft and be one of the top picks for 2024. Some experts expected her to stay on at Iowa for a fifth year because she started her freshman year during the ill-fated COVID-19 season.

On February 15th, Clark and the Hawkeyes faced Michigan, where she passed Kelsey Plum's all-time leading career 3,527 points. Then, two weeks later, she broke the record for women’s career points. She now held the record for the all time NCAA Division 1 career points for women in basketball history. She also tied Stephen Curry’s record for the most three-pointers in a regular season.

The Hawkeyes faced the Ohio State Buckeyes on March 3rd. By halftime, Clark had crushed Maravich's record by with 3,667 points.

Following her unprecedented success, Clark is now estimated to be worth three million dollars after signing sponsorships with Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, Hy-Vee and Topps.
