Thomas Kennedy is the salutatorian of the class of 2025.
As Tommy Kennedy prepares to embark on his next chapter at Boston College, he reflects on a high school journey marked by resilience, academic excellence, and the simple joys of friendship. From navigating the challenges of COVID-era schooling to achieving the honor of salutatorian, Tommy's experience at DHS is a testament to his academic dedication.
Tommy's transition from middle to high school was smooth, even with the shadow of COVID. He fondly recalls the simple pleasure of "getting to go outside all of the time for mask breaks." Despite missing out on clubs, he enjoyed playing tennis with friends. As he moved into his sophomore and junior years, the academic challenges intensified, but Tommy remained committed to his studies.
Senior year brought new experiences, including participation in the Science Olympiad. He navigated the college application process confidently and embraced senior traditions. A favorite memory from this year is going bowling with his AP physics class.
Throughout his time at DHS, Tommy's interests gravitated towards science and math, with physics standing out as the most challenging course. His hard work and dedication led to his induction into the National Honor Society and the prestigious honor of salutatorian.
Outside of school, Tommy is proud of his "personal projects" and approaches challenges with a determined spirit. When asked if he had any advice for underclassmen at DHS, he emphasized the importance of finding good friends.
As he prepares to spend the summer on Cape Cod, Tommy is excited and eager to attend Boston College. He plans on embracing this next chapter of his life with the same dedication and spirit that defined his high school journey.
