A Lovely Night with the PAC

The Performing Arts Company held its annual Love Song fundraiser concert last night, treating attendees to a wide variety of performances by members of the chorus, band, and PAC.
This year's event featured love songs performed by the DHS chorus and 14 other acts.
The DHS chorus opened the show with a slow and beautiful acapella rendition of The Rose by Bette Midler.
The other acts then followed, beginning with a duet of Taylor Swift's Love Story featuring Maggie Kear and Sorayah Melendez Manos. They were followed by Vivianna Aranda, Megan Jaye Inocando, Eleanor Taffe, and Isabella Vaz singing Falling For Ya from Teen Beach Movie in glorious harmony.
Representing the love songs of musical theater were none other than Katie O’Connor and Mollie Maguire, who hit it out of the park with their take on My Green Light from the Great Gatsby Musical. It was a hard act to follow, but then Sophie Bauman stepped up and brought the audience close to tears with her version of Gravity by Sara Bareilles.
The last solo act saw Sophie Bauman, Phoebe Blake, Victoria Huff, Alanah Peters belting out Falling by Harry Styles. It's not an exaggeration to say that the incredible harmonies produced by these singers had the audience’s jaws dropping. The beautiful blend of those voices made for the highlight of the evening.
The night wrapped up with the first-ever jazz band and chorus joint performance, an arrangement of If I Could Turn Back Time by Cher. An upbeat, bouncy number, it ended the night on a high note.
