Girls Varsity Lacrosse.
The DHS varsity baseball team ended their regular season strong with a record of 17-3. Pitchers Shawn Nosky and Griffin O’Connor have made a huge impact on the success of the team. The bats of Billy Casey and Erik Leonard have led the offense for the Marauders throughout the season. The defensively skilled field is carried by Scott Nosky at catcher, Jack Roslonek in centerfield and Jared Duane in leftfield. Two home games will be awarded to the team for such a successful record in the regular season. The Marauders won their first postseason game behind a 3 hit, 1 run outing from Tri-Valley MVP Shawn Nosky.

The softball team had an impressive season and have qualified for tournament. They held a 14-6 record, and were battling for the top of the Tri-Valley League all season long, but unfortunately fell just short of that title The girls won their first game of the state tournament 8-5 after coming back from a 5-1 deficit. Julia Salemy has been awarded MVP for the season, and hopes to lead the team to a deep postseason run.

The boys varsity lacrosse team put up a record of 6-12 on the year. The most wins that Dedham boys lacrosse has put up in years. They posted two wins against each Bellingham, Stoughton, and Norton. There were games that slipped away for them including tough losses to Norwood twice and Ashland. They ended the season on a good note with a win against Stoughton . We saw excellent seasons from Sam McGregor, Ryan Davis, Tj Harris and the rest of the team who put their best effort in all season. Moving forward the lacrosse program will look to continue to improve and get to a point where a potential winning season is in the near future.

The girls varsity lacrosse team also showed improvement by posting three wins. Two of the three wins came against Norton and the other against Norwood. They ended the season with a record of 3-14 which might not sound or look great, but it is an improvement from last season and a step in the right direction moving forward. The girls lacrosse program will look to build off of this year and hope to keep on improving for the future. We saw great seasons from Madison Rella, Cara Derby, Audrey Morse, and more. Girls lacrosse is heading in the right direction and it will be interesting to see if they can continue to improve in the future and lead Dedham to great seasons in the future.

The girls tennis team recorded 5 match wins this season. Their team Most Valuable Player was Tuyen Deng. Unfortunately neither the team, nor any individual players made the state tournament. They came very close, and coach Halluska is very optimistic on next year’s team, and their future potential.

The boys tennis team struggled this year, but they did show plenty of potential for future growth. They only gained 2 team wins over the course of the season. The team was led by senior Pedro Luchi who was a bright star on the team. The team is on to next season, and they hope to work over the summer to improve on their record next year.

The girls track team had an extremely successful spring season. They went undefeated as a team, and were crowned atop the Tri-Valley League. Many members of the team individually did very well at state meets. Rudecia Bernard, Avery O’Connor, Delaney Turner, Alondra Msallem all placed for medals in the state meet. The 4X100 group of Abby Jaminian , Hannah Hunter, Cynthia Abdelnour, and Alondra Msallem, as well as the 4X400 team of Caroline Kelleher, Colleen Coughlin, Olivia Metcalf, and Hannah Hunter also earned medals. The Marauders boast one of the best track and field programs in the state, and showed they belong at the state meets.

The boys track team also had a successful season. They had more individual success rather than team success, but still had a solid 3-2 record for the year. Many individual athletes placed for medals at the state meet. This includes Cameron Bernard, Will Chu, Antonio Queiros, Zach Clasby, Matt DeVirgilio, Max O’Connor, Kehinde Sangoyoyin, Ryan Kelleher, Josh Minard, Mikey Brennan, and PJ DeVirgilio. This was a very accomplishing season overall for the Marauders, and there was lots of individual success for some of the top track and field athletes in the state.
