Mirror: What classes do you teach?

Sousa: I teach Ceramics and Art 1.


M: How long have you been teaching?

S: This is my eighth year.


M: Where have you taught before?

S:  I taught at the Dedham Middle School for the past three years. Prior to that, I taught here at DHS.


M: Where are you from?

S:  I am originally from Dartmouth, MA.


M: Where did you go to college?

S: Boston University.


M: What are your pet peeves in the classroom? 

S: Side conversations during instruction.


M: What jobs did you have before teaching?

S: Before I taught in schools, I taught art in less traditional formats (Faneuil Hall Marketplace, New Bedford Art Museum). I've also worked in greenhouses, offices, and retail.


M: What do you like most about teaching?

S:  I enjoy helping others problem-solve and gain confidence through creating.


M: What are your hobbies?

S: I enjoy hiking, reading, and cooking.


M: What is your favorite movie? 

S: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.


M: What is your favorite drink? 

S: Coffee.
