2020 Fall Athletics Update

A decision was made last Wednesday by the Dedham School Committee and the town’s Board of Health to allow the first phase of fall athletics to begin on October 3.

The month leading up to the start of school has been a confusing time for fall athletes. Up to a week ago, no one truly knew what was going to happen concerning fall sports at DHS. While neighboring towns were cleared to resume their programs, Dedham was put into the high risk “Red Zone” due to a Covid spike in mid-September.

Dedham has since fallen to medium risk “Yellow Zone” status. And if remains so, will have been for three full weeks by the time of the first game on October 17.

The Marauder football, volleyball, and cheer programs plan to run from the end of February until the end of April during the “fall 2” season.
