Mirror: What is your position at DHS?
Cullen: I am the new Educational Team Leader.
M: How long have you been teaching?
C: Previous to being the ETL, I have been a teacher for 11 years.
M: Where have you taught before coming to DHS?
C: I taught at the Avery Elementary School in Dedham as a special education teacher.
M: Where are you from?
C: I grew up in Walpole Massachusetts.
M: Where did you go to college?
C: I went to Springfield College.
M: What do you like most about teaching?
C: I love making connections with students and helping them accomplish their goals.
M: What are your pet peeves in the classroom?
C: When students don't take their work seriously.
M: Did you have any jobs before teaching?
C: I was in childcare most of my life before teaching.
M: How are you liking Dedham, so far?
C: I love the Dedham community!
M: What inspired you to become a teacher?
C: School was really challenging for me growing up. I got through many of my challenges with the support from my teachers. Their support made me want to become a teacher/work in schools so I could make an impact on students lives’, like my teachers did for me.
M: What are your hobbies?
C: I love playing with my two and four year old and working out.
M: What is your favorite movie?
C: I have too many- not sure!
M: What is your favorite book?
C: I love the author Colleen Hoover. All of her books!
M: Favorite food/drink?
C: I love cold brew coffees!
M: What are you most looking forward to this school year?
C: I am excited to join the high school team and look forward to building relationships with staff!
