Mirror: What is your role at DHS?
Hunt: I am the Vocational and Transition Specialist.
M: How long have you been an educator?
H: 11 years.
M: Where have you taught before?
H: Boston, Medford, New Bedford, Westwood, and Brockton school districts.
M: Where did you go to college, and what was your major?
H: Boston University - Special Education.
M: What do you like most about teaching/being in the classroom?
H: I love connecting with students and being able to tap into the knowledge while learning from them all at the same time.
M: What are your pet peeves in the classroom?
H: Not paying attention during instruction, then asking questions about what we went over!
M: What inspired you to become an educator?
H: The impact that teachers, coaches, and other school leaders had on me to help me reach my potential inspired me to want to pass that passion along to the future of our communities.
M: What sets you apart from other educators?
H: My passion and enthusiasm, and being willing to get in the trenches with students to get them in the best position possible by any means necessary.
M: Will you be getting involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, which one(s)?
H: Yes, I am the head football coach and look to build relationships within the community as well.
M: What do you like most about Dedham and its community?
H: I love the small-town, big-impact feeling. People are passionate here, and it reminds me of what makes places so special.
M: Where are you from, originally?
H: Boston (South End).
M: What are your hobbies?
H: I love going to church, spending time with my family, coaching football, community building, watching movies, going on cruises, amusement parks, hanging with friends, alone time.
M: What is your favorite movie?
H: I have a lot! But on my mind right now is the Back to the Future trilogy lol!
M: Favorite TV/streaming show?
H: A lot! But I’m going with Power on STARZ.
M: Favorite book?
H: I love autobiographies, mainly on sports coaches or athletes.
M: Favorite genre of music and favorite artist?
H: GOSPEL - John P. Kee.
M: Favorite phone app?
H: Probably Instagram or YouTube.
M: Favorite food/favorite restaurant?
H: I can’t choose! LOL, I love all kinds: Southern comfort foods, Caribbean/Ethnic foods.
M: If you could only watch one, which would you choose: Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox, Revolution?
H: None! The Raiders!!
M: In one sentence, how do you feel about A.I.?
H: I feel it is a very good tool if used correctly. But I’m totally over AI flyers; please STOP lol!
