Mirror: What is your role at DHS?
Krevolin: I am a science teacher teaching Biology and physics this school year.
Mirror: How long have you been an educator?
Krevolin: I am entering my 3rd year of professional teaching.
Mirror: Where have you taught before?
Krevolin: I have previously taught at Lexington High School and various schools in Western Massachusetts when I was in graduate school.
Mirror: Where did you go to college, and what was your major?
Krevolin: I went to UMass Amherst where I studied biology, history, and education.
Mirror: What do you like most about teaching/being in the classroom?
Krevolin: I find teaching to be an entertaining and rewarding experience. I like when my students make new connections to the world around them in my science classroom.
Mirror: What are your pet peeves in the classroom?
Krevolin: Airpod use!
Mirror: What inspired you to become an educator?
Krevolin: My father is an educator himself. He has been a positive role model throughout my life. He spent most of his career teaching incarcerated individuals technology and science skills.
Mirror: What sets you apart from other educators?
Krevolin: I am an enthusiastic student focused educator. My students have described me as a passionate and approachable teacher who helps them achieve success in the science classroom.
Mirror: Will you be getting involved in any extracurricular activities? If so, which one(s)?
Krevolin: I am not certain yet as I am still getting my footing here in this new district!
Mirror: What do you like most about Dedham and its community?
Krevolin: Dedham has been very welcoming to me in my early going. I look forward to learning more about this incredible community as I serve my students.
Mirror: Where are you from, originally?
Krevolin: I am originally from Longmeadow MA in Western Massachusetts
Mirror: What are your hobbies?
Krevolin: I enjoy singing in my chorus, country line and swing dancing, fishing, and spending time with my friends and family.
Mirror: What is your favorite movie?
Krevolin: I really appreciate good films but I am not certain I have an all time favorite. Maybe Mama Mia as that is a very fun movie to watch.
Mirror: Favorite TV/streaming show?
Krevolin: I honestly do not watch much TV. I would probably say whatever sports game is on that night. I play some video games though including Rocket League and Fortnite
Mirror: Favorite book?
Krevolin: Any book by my favorite author Michael Chabon
Mirror: Favorite genre of music and favorite artist?
Krevolin: I love country music. Alan Jackson and George Strait are two of my favorites
Mirror: Favorite phone app?
Krevolin: Probably instagram. It is such a time sink though!
Mirror: Favorite food/favorite restaurant?
Krevolin: I really like Vietnamese food! The town I grew up in bordered an area with a large Vietnamese population so I was spoiled with incredible food!
Mirror: If you could only watch one, which would you choose: Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox, Revolution?
Krevolin: This is a great question. I think my answer to this changes by the season but if I have to choose I would say the Patriots.
Mirror: In one sentence, how do you feel about A.I.?
Krevolin: I think it is a powerful emerging technology that can be used as a helpful tool but needs shrewd regulation so that it doesn’t take advantage of and hurt innocent people!
