The Saturday, September 13, 2025 General Meeting was held at Barnes & Noble in Paramus, New Jersy.  March L Abbott spoke and answered questions.  Mr Abbott is the author of four books and co-author of two more.  He has written and directed short films, is the co-host of the BEEF, WINE, & SHENANIGANS podcast, and has organized a number of storytelling events.  Our thanks to Claire Fischer for handling the zoom feed.  Notes about the meeting will be posted to the club website <sfabc.org> at 2025 - 09/2025 Meeting.

Everybody has a horror story in them.

Religious, but open-minded.

Has done stories with Angels, Djinns, and Golems.  Asks to make sure he was getting them right.

Felt sorry for Frankenstein, but not Dracula.

Teenagers think death is cool.  Explains Twilight.

Vampires are controlling.

Don't like the idea of being forced into a romance.

Horror comedies are comforting.

Loved horror since he was a child.

Father loved the Universal Horror Movies.

Mother was a teacher and introduced him to Poe.

Friends worshipped Fangoria.

Went to horror conventions.

Upon reading Clive Barker - This is what I want to do with my life.

Met James Chambers at a Lunacon panel and learned of Horror Writers Association.

Likes any horror story what makes you uneasy and stays with you for a long time.

Dislikes gross out or shock

Read a lot growing up

Loved Judy Blume from 4th Grade on

Influences - Stephen King, Clive Barker, Brom Stoker (once tried to write in his epistolary manner)

Urban legends - Candyman. Sewer alligators.

HORROR IN THE WAY STATION - Two horror writers go into a haunted bar and tell horror stories.

SINISTER ASCENSION - Vampire wants to get revenge on a coven.  He wants to become a demon.

Podcast - Four Black nerds talking about all things nerdy.

Likes a good sequel
