The September 13, 2003 meeting of the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County was held at the Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.

Barry Weinberger filled in with style when the original moderator of our Final Frontier discussion did not arrive. Taras Wolansky supplied the viewing for our other pre meeting activity, episodes of the Anime show, THE IRRESPONSIBLE CAPTAIN TYLOR.

The evening's guest speaker was actress / film producer Beverly Penberthy. Over the years the Association has had many interesting and unusual guests, but this is the first one from another world. From ANOTHER WORLD to be precise, as that was where Ms Benberthy met fellow actor and screen writer Dean Tschetter. He had written a horror/detective spoof titled BITS AND PIECES which was filmed and later released as BLOODSUCKING PHARAOHS IN PITTSBURGH.

The movie was originally intended to be produced as one of a number of low budget features under the banner of George Romero. The financing for that project collapsed, but Romero liked the script and the people involved, and urged them to go to Pittsburgh, where he still had some contacts, to shoot it as an independent project.

The presence of actress Jane Esther Hamilton, a well know porn actress in the lead female role, made it possible for the film to find a distributor. Unfortunately, a series of disputes and lawsuits made it nearly impossible to obtain.

The film was funny and the guest's comments a blast, but we're out of space. If you weren't there, you missed a good time.
