We thank HobbyTown USA in Nyack, New York for hosting the June 11, 2016 meeting of the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County. Freelance Copy Editor Richard Shealy spoke and answered questions. Author Michael J Martinez, a former guest of the Association, was among those in attendance.

Four members of our writers' group--George Galuschak, Gregor Hartmann, Patricia Nash and Greg Roman were joined by Randie O'Neil and newcomer Mitch Radler--caught an early dinner at the Nyack Diner for an informal networking experience. Barry's Ice Nine discussion was held at HobbyTown and enlivened by the presence of our speaker and Mr Martinez.

Richard Shealy has been a genre buff his entire life. While he cannot recall the first book he read, he clearly recollects the rocket sled on its cover. He is also a word nerd who hates to see words misspelled or misused. His first job in the publishing arena was as a menu translator for a French airline. An interesting aspect to the work is that the French often use English words, but that the word has a different connotation in French than in English.
