Jody Lee was the guest at our last meeting. Ms Lee has illustrated games, book covers, and interior illos in the science fiction, young adult, and textbook marketplace.

In addition to a slide show of about 40 pieces, she also brought with her four original paintings and a number of sketches.

Lee's style is more design-oriented than photo-realistic. She works in a small apartment in which she lives and uses only non-toxic, waterbased materials.

One of the most interesting things she said was that she could only paint a relatively few sf covers a year because they take much longer to do and pay no better than young adult.
