Meeting Notes:

Wife is an archaeologist.  Taught himself Basic and did website for her department.  That led to other work for schools and government.  He did a humorous pamphlet about geology for her department.  This went viral to archaeology departments at other colleges.

He met his wife at a party.  He was fascinated by her terrarium of psychedelic, poisonous, and carnivorous plants.

He and a friend formed a publishing company, but they didn't know what they were doing.  They had planned to publish someone's book, but that fell through.  So he wrote Minims to use up the paper they had bought.

He was a freelance graphic designer and knew how to do art and layouts for his books.

He has just finished doing the illustrations for a science book about archaeology.

Science Made Stupid won the Hugo for Best Non-Fiction Book.  The following year they changed the category to Best Work - Other.

Wrote one science fiction and one fantsy screenplay on spec but got nowhere.  He did get to eat in the commissary and walk through some movie sets.

Fan of Mad Magazine in his misspent youth.

Still gets mail and emails about his long out of print works.  One person told him it took him 38 years to get one of his science jokes.

Got to know Country Joe & the Fish.  He did posters, album covers, and psychedelic art for them.  He still manages their website.
