The Science Fiction Association of Bergen County met at the Saddle River Valley Cultural Center on Saturday, April 14, 2001. The meeting was well attended and enjoyable, despite the screw ups of not having a television available for the Armchair Odyssey, the absence of the Association's Director for the start of the meeting, and the tardiness of our guest to arrive.

Author/critic Gregory Feeley was the featured speaker. Mr Feeley spoke about his writing career, how the science fiction field has changed during the past twenty years, and his experiences as a reviewer of science fiction.

His comments ranged from a serious examination of how to properly define science fiction to amusing anecdotes about authors taking literary revenge on him for less than flattering reviews. The meeting was a long one, with lots of audience participation and feedback. There is not nearly enough space to recapitulate the presentation of Mr Feeley. He joined us at Matthews' Diner afterwards and continued the dialogue.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the meeting a success, especially Steve Spinosa for muffins and other food and Pamela Webber for getting the meeting started
