The most recent meeting of the Association was held on Saturday, March 11, 1995 at the Saddle River Valley Cultural Center in Upper Saddle River. Filmmaker Ted Bohus and his film, VAMPIRE VIXENS FROM VENUS, formed the evening's program.

William Molendyk's pre meeting Dungeons & Dragons game was attended by Philip De Parto, Charles Garofalo, Igor Goldberg and Scott Schmitt. The gathering was held, as usual, at the GameMaster in Fair Lawn from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.

A small group of us went to dinner with Mr Bohus before the event. Paul Dellechiaie, Philip De Parto, James La Barre, Thomas Purdy, Carol Smith, and John Upton enjoyed a decent meal with lots of weird conversations.

Anthony Tellado lead a smaller than usual Final Frontier gathering which talked about the "STAR TREK: Federation Science" exhibit at the Morris Museum and other TREK stuff at the Center. The attendance was actually a bit larger than the listing above would indicate, as we jotted down names at the beginning of the discussion and people continued to arrive afterwards.

At 8:00 PM or thereabouts, we started the meeting. The usual preliminaries were held, with Matthew Androlowitz, Sharon Archer, Thomas Bauer, David Goldfeder, and Barry Weinberger winning free books, and the usual announcements made.

Dan Kachoogian, Matthew Androlowitz, and Brett Pasternack of the Central New Jersey Science Fiction Society (since re-named the Garden State Science Fiction Conspiracy) spoke briefly about their group. GSSFC is a newly-organized fan group which meets for dinner and discussion every Thursday. The group dines at Jahn's Restaurant on Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, New Jersey at 7:00 PM. For further information, call Dan Kachoogian.

Ted Bohus led off with a trailer for his movie, THE REGENERATED MAN, a movie he would have preferred to screen, and then popped in the video cassette of VAMPIRE VIXENS. VIXENS pits a trio of beautiful shape changers who come to Earth to drain the lifeforce of hotblooded Earthman against a bumbling British detective. There is cheesecake aplenty (including an International PENTHOUSE Pet) as well as a bit of beefcake (a PLAYGIRL Man of the Year).

The movie was a USA Up-All-Night type of movie. Some people really liked it, and others cared not a whit. Ted made no great claims for it. He simply produced (and directed, and wrote, and acted in) it because the buyers at Blockbuster Video told him that they'd order a lot of copies of a film of this sort.

After the flick was over, we took a short break and then resumed with a question and answer session.

If reaction to the film was mixed, the Q & A session made up for it. Mr Bohus fielded questions on a wide range of related topics, including how movies get made, why they are expensive to shoot in California, how you go about getting financing, personal triumphs and disappointments, low and big budget filmmakers whom he likes and dislikes. He talked about how gracious Maria Shriver is and how unimposing Arnold is in real life.

The meeting ran especially late, as one story led to another and another. At least one member of our group felt that this had been the best meeting in several years, one which would have been worth videotaping.

Owing to the lateness of the hour, a number of regulars did not make it to the Horizon Diner afterwards. The tired-but-hungry crowd included Matthew Androlowitz, Sharon Archer, Mary Ann Denny, Philip De Parto, David Goldfeder, Dan Kachoogian, James La Barre, Eileen Madison, Matthew Marcus, Brett Pasternack, Robert Pinkus, Michael Richman, Anthony Tellado, and Pamela Webber.
