Only a handful of us attended the January meeting, but those who did had a good time. Everyone had been notified that we had no guest and that it would be a do-it-yourself affair, so no one felt cheated.

The club's treasure trove of books was spread out upon the piano, and everyone in attendance received one. Pauline Alama picked up a John Norman novel and began reading aloud, a practice which was soon emulated by others in search of equally bad passages.

After talking about books, good and bad, and their writers, we sat down and played the game "Murder on the Orient Expressl" I won't reveal who done it, but can observe that Sherlock Holmes we ain't.

After the game was over, we adjourned to the Horizon Diner where the principle topic of conversation was skiing and vacations.

A surprisingly good time was had by all.
