The following account is reprinted with permission from THE STARSHIP EXPRESS Copyright 1988 Philip J De Parto:

In recent months, the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County has had a problem with last minute cancellations by guest speakers. Last month's meeting featured a cancellation not of our guest, but of our hall. The Cultural Center had booked two groups for the same evening.

Since the other group had been there first, the best thing to do seemed to be to relocate to the Methodist Church across the street. While we were packing up and moving there, Robert Hepperle brought back word that the other group was concluding their business and would be done in another 15 minutes. We therefore repacked and returned to the Cultural Center.

Despite this confusion the meeting went rather smoothly. Jamie Warren, Associate Art Director of Bantam Books, gave a talk / slide show / paste up presentation that ranks as one of the most important since the inception of the S.F.A.B.C. Anyone with an interest in art, marketing, or publishing received much food for thought.

There were 18 of us in attendance including book drawing winners William Benthake, Anthony Pawlak, and Brian Keveney.
