The S F A B C Annual Holiday Party & Pot Luck Dinner was held at the Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 10, 2001. The temperature had been in the 60s the day before the meeting and the area was in the middle of a three month drought. Naturally, it snowed.
The weather may have kept some people away, but those who persevered discovered one of the best balanced spreads we have ever offered. Unlike some past years, we had more than enough of every food category: main dishes, sides, drinks, desserts, and paper products.
Among the main dishes were London Broil by Pamela Webber, chicken cutlets by Sharon Archer, meatballs by Charles Garofalo, and tarragon chicken by Nancy Denker. Sides included ziti by Brett Wallace and pasta by Robert Yeager. Desserts included bakery cookies by William Molendyk, toll house cookies by Kathy Holusha, truffles by Dan Adler, and cinnamon buns by John Upton. Joan Hardy brought an ice cream cake. Asta Sinusas added fruit. Hillary Sherwood brought paper goods. Roy Greenberg contributed lox. Bruce Wallace provided shrimp. This is only a smattering of what was on hand.
Those who wanted more entertainment than conversing and eating were able to watch cartoons in the Wesley Room. At 9:00 PM, we showed WITCH HUNT, the sequel to the fantasy, CAST A DEADLY SPELL.
Our thanks to everyone who helped with the set up and clean up, the food and the good cheer.
