Started with 18 minute video of clips of movies he's written music for.

Primarily works with a snythesizer

Goes for style directors ask for

Inspired by Killing Spree (band) music

Process for score - watch film 3 - 7 times / looks for scenes needing cues / talks with director

Cues become themes of longer pieces

Then writes the score

Usually takes 2 - 3 months to write the score

Played guitar for bad bands in high school

Fan of 90s bands

Liked band Fear Factory - particularly concept album Obsolete - tight and technicolor album

Inspired him to write music in a cinematic way

He has done 4 albums

Was given two weeks of guitar lessons as a teen, self-taught from there on

Can't read music

Created a persona, Time Ghost, only to be hit with a cease-and-desist because someone else was doing it

Uses mostly software which emulates different instruments

His wife is a horror fan. They met through a dating app and bonded over a love of John Carpenter's The Thing. They have a 1-year-old.

Day job is a mailman

Inspired by 80s band - Goblin who wrote for Italian horror films

Did not get paid for his second film score which was done for a college student

You have to knock on a lot of doors to get work

Does cold calls using a variety of sources including IMDB Directors

Was scared by John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness when he was growing up

Carpenter's The Thing was very powerful

More recently - Annihilation

Two favorite film scores are Prince of Darkness and Halloween 3

Blood Rage is also very good
