Stanton's Restaurant in Maywood New Jersey was the site of our July 8, 1989 meeting. Twenty one S.F.A.B.C.ers joined guests Douglas and Pamela Murray for dinner before the meeting. An additional six joined us later.

Doug Murray led off with a slide show of items in the Murray collection. They possess a wide variety of artwork, ranging from Hildebrandt sketches for set design of the CONAN movies to Frazzetta and Rowena originals. There were slides of costumes, masks and props from STAR TREK, ZARDOZ, PLANET OF THE APES, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, as well as other film and television features. Many of these had interesting stories associated with them.

The floor was then passed to Pamela Murray who passed around or displayed sketches, sculptures, and models which she had designed or executed. She talked about future plans she had as well as how she executed her artwork.

Finally, Doug Murray returned and talked about writing for comics and science fiction. He passed out copies of his comic book, THE NAM.

William Benthake won the drawing for the gift certificate to Schiller's Bookstore. Newcomers Paul Lechner and Thomas Purdy joined the group. Among the long-absent faces returning to the fold were Mark and Jackie Pratt, Ron Ontel, Val Sussman, Lissanne Lake, Roberta Rogow, and Jacqueline Calleja. About 16 of us, including Doug and Pamela, made it over to Cool Scoops.
