CLARKE and LILY are waiting patiently, nearly standing at attention. CLARKE throws a switch and a struggling "beaming-in" sound is heard. VERNE and AZALEA beam in, both nude; standing together over one of the round metal screens with holes nailed to the carpeted telepad floor. VERNE is clutching a limp AZALEA, holding her to his body tightly. LILY rushes to the telepad and runs her scanner. VERNE relinqushes AZALEA to LILY, who is carrying a medical bag.)
VERNE
Is she...?
LILY
(Taking AZALEA from VERNE.) She's alive. Computer, emergency medical transport.
(AZALEA and LILY beam out. VERNE turns to CLARKE and steps off the platform, weak and dizzy. He looks about; paranoid.)
VERNE
Clarke...
CLARKE
(Steps in to steady him.) Captain.
VERNE
(Clutching:) They don't know what they're doing! Clarke, we need to get help... we must stop them... it's coming! The end! We need to- We-
(He falls unconscious into CLARKE'S strong arms.)
CLARKE
Computer, E-M-T Sickbay.
LIGHT: Transporter
SOUND: Transporter
(They beam out.)
