Scene 2.12 - Blown Fuse
EST: INT. Funeral Parlor - Night.
(Lightning briefly lights the stained-glass window of the parlor, silhouettes are seen standing around the casket, but nothing is sure.)
GRAMMA
Aaargh!
FAITH
Oh!
POLLY
Faith? Hope? Charity? Girls?
HOPE
Aaaaaahh!
ASSISTANT
We’ve blown a fuse! I’ll get it!
(Monstrous sounds of ripping skin and flesh-devouring are heard from the casket.)
PAUL
Polly?
POLLY
Paul, I’m here.
PAUL
Where?
CHARITY
Mom? Mom?
POLLY
Charity?
DOUGLAS HARDGRAVE
It’s all right, it’s just a blown fuse.
CUT TO: Near darkness, down the hall, down some stairs, at the fuse switch. The assistant resets it.
CUT TO: INT. FUNERAL PARLOR.
(FAITH, who has a bloody wound at her neck, and GRAMMA are feasting on HOPE, who is prone on the floor. Both women turn toward POLLY, DOUGLAS and CHARITY, with bloody, gruesome smiles on their faces. POLLY screams, the others are in shock. When HOPE suddenly bolts upright and joins the advance of FAITH and GRAMMA, CHARITY screams and runs from the room. POLLY is quickly taken down by FAITH, while GRAMMA tackles DOUGLAS. PAUL is scratched and bitten by HOPE, but manages to get away, closing the door behind him.)
CUT TO: EXT. FUNERAL PARLOR, HALLWAY -- MS DOOR.
(PAUL hears CHARITY’S screams echoing down the hall and quickly follows. The door slowly opens, with GRAMMA, POLLY, FAITH, HOPE and DOUGLAS very intelligently peering out, smiling.)
