EST: INT. Captain’s Quarters/Sick Bay
(Since VERNE has never heard AZALEA’s real voice, he imagines it differently than what she really sounds like. RAMONA from later fills in, altering her voice and sounding as though she's talking through a can, similar to the FEMALE COMPUTER’S voice, but not as sing-song, nor using the same actress, either. We hear a faint, slow, heart beat as a dreaming VERNE is visited by the ghost of our leading lady.)
AZALEA
Do you want to hold my hand?
VERNE
What?
AZALEA
Hold my hand.
(VERNE does.)
AZALEA (Cont'd)
Now, doncha wanna kiss me?
VERNE
Kiss you? Sure.
AZALEA
First, there's something you've got to do for me.
VERNE
What's that?
AZALEA
(Leans in, whispers:) You've got to wake up.
(VERNE awakens. His quarters is under alarm. It's dark, we don't see how large his bed actually is at this time.)
MS: VERNE'S QUARTERS
FEMALE COMPUTER
Alarm. (A pleasant chime.) Alarm. (A distinct, pleasant chime.) Alarm.
(VERNE cuts-off the alarm by hitting the intercom switch. We don't see the room's immensity.)
VERNE
I'm up, what is it?
WELLS
It's me, Julie.
VERNE
Doc, I was gonna wake you. How, how'd you wake-up? Ship wake you? What is it?
WELLS
I need you in Bravo right now, sir.
VERNE
What's happened?
WELLS
It's Azalea.
VERNE
I'll be right there.
