YOUNG SINGER V.O.
Kaptain Kool, savior of The Universe!
FIRST KID
(Props doll on makeshift raft, in water-) Rod! It's Diablo! We've got to stop her!
SECOND KID
(Proudly commanding ISLE OF DREAD ACTION SET-) Heh! Heh! Heh!
THIRD KID
(In water, with doll, making it swim to raft-) We're out-gunned, Kaptain... We'll stop you, Diablo!
(Splashes water.)
SECOND KID
You're all wet, Kaptain Kool! Say hello to Davey Jones' locker!
(The island's dual-trigger pumps spray water about, soaking the swimsuit-laden boys and a nearby homeless guy. A geyser spews from the volcano, sending the Orb beach ball aloft. It disturbs a different gang of older kids -- less urban -- yet just as delinquent as the previous gang -- all are drinking, smoking and throwing rocks into the water, bored to tears.)
TELEVISION ANNOUNCER V.O.
Command the waterways with your own floating Isle of Dread! It has two super-soaking water cannons and a geyser that can ooze lava or drench the competition with a fountain-of-fury! Set the cannons to narrow beam and pick-off your enemies with the stinger spray laser! You've got ammo as long as you've got water!
THIRD KID
(Doll sprayed off of raft-) She's got me!
SECOND KID
Heh! Heh! Heh!
(An annoying, clicking trigger noise compounded by water jets. The boys can’t splash against it.)
FIRST KID
Swim for shore, she's master of the seas!
SECOND KID
I got you now, Kool!
(SECOND KID sprays THIRD KID's life jacket as he moves to shore.)
THIRD KID
We'll be back, Diablo!
(The kids run past the formerly-dry gangstas on shore, who are patiently waiting for the SECOND KID. One hands a felt-tip marker to another, while another subtly pops the black beach ball with his cigarette. The gang's leader inspects his fingernails, looks up, tilts head.)
