Scene 1.13 - The Shower
EST: INT. Bathroom -Day.
(There are sounds in the background to suggest cleaning. BUNNY is recently showered, wearing a bathrobe and is brushing her teeth when BAMBI waltzes-in.)
BAMBI
Are you all right, Bunny?
BUNNY
(Rinses, spits.) Can’t say I couldn’t be better, but I’ve been worse, I think. (Examines scratch on her face.) What made us all lose our heads like that?
BAMBI
I dunno. Think I can borrow some of that toothpaste? I have an awful taste in my mouth.
BUNNY
Sure, take a shower if you’d like. I’m going to get in something more comfortable, like my jammies. You want a change of clothes, too?
BAMBI
Yeah, my slacks were shredded and this shirt’s had it.
(BAMBI unbuttons the only button still attached and the cloth drops to the floor, leaving her only wearing ripped panties and a bra with one broken strap.)
BUNNY
I’ll be in my bedroom. I’ll get some extra towels and stock the other bathroom, maybe the others could use a shower. It sure did wonders for me. I feel like a million bucks. (Hands BAMBI a large, folded towel.) Here, Bambi, take a shower. I’ve got plenty of hot water. When your finished, come to my bedroom and I’ll have something for you to wear.
BAMBI
Okay.
BUNNY
Is that my vacuum I’m hearing?
BAMBI
The girls feel pretty bad about what happened so they’re cleaning up the mess.
BUNNY
No way! They don’t hafta do that. We’re here to party, and once everybody’s showered and got into some clean clothes, we’ll pick-up right where we left off. Well, before we all started fighting anyway.
BAMBI
I think we’ve all seen enough today, Bunny. Maybe we should all just go home.
BUNNY
My best friends leaving me on my birthday? I won’t hear of it! Get out of the rest of those rags, take a shower and meet me in my bedroom. I’ll get the others and we’ll get this party going again. I’m feeling a whole lot better now and want to put this morning behind me and get to-
(BESSIE steps to the doorway.)
BESSIE
Are you okay, Bunny?
BUNNY
I feel fit as a fiddle. (Gently guides BESSIE out.) Now I want everyone to shower, with two bathrooms it shouldn’t take long, and I got clean clothes for everybody and I got some cool all-day mascara and we’re gonna get some more blender drinks going and smoke some more grass and hey Bambi, what are you waiting for? Get showered already and meet me in my bedroom. You gotta help me pick-out clothes for everyone. Then we’re gonna smoke some more grass and listen to that new Beatles album I got and then I can slice up that cucumber I was saving for a rainy day and then we can all put on some cool facial masks I got from the salon and then we can smoke some grass and then we can paint each other’s fingernails and toenails and then I thought, if we all felt up to it, anyway, I thought I would be really neat if we could get out my guitar and the tamborine and...
