Scene 5.16 - Painter's Pass
EXT. Temple Of The Virgin
(Fourteen ninja-like figures arrive in a two-rank formation and break-for-camp upon seeing the palace in the lowlands below. There is celebration. Various minor desecrations take place, and some troops get their fill from the fountain of mystic liquors. One errant figure spies the coin at the bottom of the pool while peeing-in-it and he decides it might be worth something to go underwater and retrieve it. He doesn't return. Others notice and look into the pool. Another dives-in to retrieve the coin, and also vanishes, making the ninja-like figures suddenly very afraid. They speak in ancient tongue.)
SOFT CLOCK WIPE TO:
(Ten men are tied-together with a very stout rope and the lead man dives under. A portion of the rope disappears, but the line remains taut. The curious ninja-like figures -- sleek, dark-clothed masters of the night look at one another and as the second silent assassin guy peers over the edge of the pool, the rope suddenly pulls violently; slowly pulling the remaining nine, one after another into the pool where they all vanish. The remaining two spiritually-haunted remnants of an elite army of death pick up their things and run away screaming, back in the direction of their encampment.)
