(In thick darkness, in a heavy, foggy morning on a craggy island, sans lighthouse or foghorn. The moon is full, but heavy clouds diffuse and shadow its eerie light, making the moondial fixed upon the deck of the approaching ship worthless. Sounds of waves, and sounds of ropes tightening, masts creaking and grand sails billowing in the slow wind are muffled and nearly muted. From shore, a small ship can be seen floating in the mist.
