Horror Worlds, Contests, and Conventions

With the recent release of one of VRChat’s most anticipated worlds, “The Devouring” by Lakuza, CyanLaser, Fionna, and Legends, it seems that the season of horror worlds in VR has finally begun.

One month prior to the world’s release, VRChat users initiated the preparation of “HorrorCon,” a new convention organized for people interested in the horror media. As with other conventions, such as Comic Vket and Music Vket which happened last month successfully, as expected, HorrorCon will last only a few days and will be taking place in VRChat this year from October 29th till November 2nd.

On top of this, shortly after The Devouring’s public release, VRChat developers revealed that their annual Halloween contest, “Spookality,” returns once again, “Submissions will be accepted starting on August 25th, 2020 and will end on October 23rd, 2020 at 12 PM PT.”

This time, the prize pool has been improved, offering up to 4 significant rewards, each including a VR headset, two of which offer an alternative option of a full set of Vive trackers for the creators of cross-platform content. To read more about the event, visit https://vrchat.com/spookality.
